is a Brazilian design studio whose practice comprehends products
and projects guided by curiosity and experimentation

Installation created for the Design Weekend São Paulo 2014, for an exhibition with the ‘Multifunctionality’ theme. Based on the idea that the utility of a table is directly related to its size, BABEL explored the replication of a matrix in different scales, in search of the unitary and collective interpretation of the pieces. The proposal is that the tables are to be arranged into groups or to be put apart from each other, suggesting a reflection about utilities, scale and transformations.

Among the possibilities of the compositions, the unexpected happens: the object takes on a sculptural, architectural character.

During the exhibition, compositions were constantly changed to present the possibilities and to emphasize the impermanent nature of the project.
